A Working Staycation at Quest Hotel Cebu

I had a chance to be a sort of “Business Traveller” during my recent Trip to Cebu. Why? because I was working during the day and touring the city after office hours. I stayed at Quest Hotel for 3 days during my trip and it was fantastic. Quest Hotel is mostly marketed as a business hotel but they are also gaining popularity among non-business travellers.

So let start my Business Staycation Experience at Quest Hotel Cebu.

Like I said, Quest Hotel is Located right beside Ayala Center Cebu so finding it won’t be a problem. Upon entry to the hotel, you will be greeted by their beautiful lobby and their friendly staff. No 3-star feeling here at all! There are some residential units on the top floors of Quest Hotel and they share a lobby so during check-ins and check-out times, the lobby gets a bit crowded. But on regular hours, the lobby was generally peaceful. Moving on, the check-in was hassle free and we got our key cards within a few minutes. After that, we were assisted with our luggage and escorted to our room.

Upon entering the room you will immediately notice that it was a bit smaller compared to some other hotel rooms – then you realized how much you paid and this is not 5-star – so everything seems nicer. Yes, the room is not that big, in fact, there’s no space for an extra bed inside the room however, the size is perfect for 2 and everything inside the room is functional. No wasted space, there’s still plenty of room to move around and to place your luggage and the room is complete with all the standard 5-star hotel room amenities. If you cannot find what you need inside the room, like in my case, I need a HDMI Cable to use the LED TV as my extended monitor while working, they can actually lend you one for free. There are 2 views to choose from – the Ayala Center View and the Mountain View. If you like watching Cebu’s Business District from your room then Choose the Ayala Center View Room.

The room was cozy and the design was really nice. I must say, if you are not that particular, you won’t even notice that you are staying in a 3-star hotel room! The bed was very comfortable, the shower was amazing and each room has an individually controlled air conditioner. Like I said, I was working during the day and It was really pleasant and comfortable despite the small work area. It was functional, nothing fancy, and the best part was I get to use the TV as my extended display via HDMI. Perfect!!

The WiFi was stable throughout the day but the speed was a bit underwhelming (Around 1MBPS on average) I encountered some connection problems during breakfast time and dinner time when – I guess – guest are already back in their rooms and started using the bandwidth. But other that that, working inside my room for 8 hours was great pleasant.

Still in the “Business Traveller” state of mind, I decided to order in room service for lunch. I had a cheeseburger and chicken curry. The food came in 15 minutes after ordering which is pretty much the standard. The Chicken Curry was good but the Burger was AMAZING! At first look, it looks dry and bland but upon first bite – BOOM! Mind Blown! This was probably one of the best burgers that I have ever tried and probably one of the best burger in Cebu!

After my working hours, I walked around the hotel to check their other amenities and try their fitness center. I was keen on taking a dip in the pool however since it was already dinner time, the pool was already crowded so I passed.

After a whole day of my working staycation at Quest Hotel Cebu, I was excited to indulge in a delightful Dinner Buffet at Puso Restaurant. Again, this is why Quest Hotel is a great Business Hotel, all you need for business is here at the same time, there’s a lot to do for pleasure – like going to Crimson Resort and Spa for a Day Tour.
