Bluewater Maribago will be offering themed dinner buffets for all nights of July-September 2013. When I stayed with them a couple of weeks back, I was able to try two of the seven themes that they will be offering. I must say, I was a bit lucky since both I personally love both themes that I was able to try during my stay.
Before I showcase them, here’s the list of Bluewater Maribago’s Dinner themes for this season.
- Sunday – All Steak Night
- Monday – Mondo Mediterraneo
- Tuesday – Taste of Asia
- Wednesday – Cebuano Street Food
- Thursday – American Backyard Grill
- Friday – Fishing Village
- Saturday – Barrio Fiesta
The dinner buffet is served at their Allegro Restaurant. The first theme that I was able to try was the Cebuano Street Food. They literally brought all the famous street foods of Cebu into the buffet. There’s the BBQ from Larsian, there’s puso of course, sago gulaman, and even Cebu Lechon! It was the perfect way to experience and enjoy Cebuano Food all in one place! This is also perfect since majority of the Hotel Guests are foreigners so they get to enjoy local delicacies, on a cleaner environment.
Aside from the food, the buffet also showcases Cebuano Talents by doing a show in line with the theme of the buffet. The theme of that nights performance was Filipino folk dances. It was so much fun (especially for the foreign guests) and to conclude the performance, they invited some of them to try our famous tinikling. It was a fun and yet a bit nerve wracking experience.
It was a fun experience, it was one of those opportunities where eating using your hands is encouraged and acceptable. At the same time, the food is served on banana leaf-lined plates. So Pinoy! The buffet is not big – not at all – but they stick with the theme, when they say street food, they mean it! And they did not stop there, they also made sure that the presentation is in line with the theme as well.
Here’s a tour of Cebu’s Famous Street food.
I really enjoyed this buffet! It has a lot of my favorites in it. I personally enjoyed the bibingka, the grilled stuff and the lechon! Super Good!
Now moving on to the next day, another favorite of mine. I remembered, when I saw the sign during lunch, I immediately asked one of the staff “Meron bang ribs later?” she said, “”Yes po!” SOLD! At first of course I am skeptical that they will be serving super good ribs in a buffet but I was wrong! The ribs was super good! The flavors were a bit subtle which makes you enjoy the actual fall of the bone ribs meat.
The Ribs was just the tip of the Iceberg, there’s burger of course, hotdogs, fries, onion rings, chili and beans soup, fajitas and burritos! And keeping up with the theme, a Broadway-like presentation was presented to the clients.
The ribs came in 3 flavors! Happiness time 3 for me! It may not look appetizing but it was really good! 🙂 So good, I think I was able to eat an entire full slab! Plus burgers and other stuff! 🙂
If you are visiting Cebu this Month of August and September, try to pay a visit at Bluewater Maribago Resort in Mactan to experience their themed buffet for the month. That Steak Day dinner looks good as well.
The buffet is priced at 1,250 net per person. Dinner is served from 6:00PM to 9:00PM Daily. Walk-ins are welcome although there is limited seating so it is better to reserve a table in advance.
Hanggang sa muli, Paalam!
