Exactly one year ago, a Gorgeous Hotel opened its doors in Alabang. And it forever changed the hotel landscape in the south of the metro. One year has passed, but until now, I still find it very refreshing whenever I step in Acacia Hotel Alabang. I have been here to dine several times already but the food, the Pandan juice, the service and the interiors never fails to impress me. I just cant get enough of their beautiful and elegant hotel lobby. So when I got the chance to stay, I was really excited.
My Staycation started with a very smooth Check-in and Nice Welcome Fruit Platter! I checked in a Junior Suite Room. Which at the moment, their highest level room category. The room was a large Corner Suite with floor to ceiling windows with a great view of Westgate Alabang and your own living area. Since Acacia Hotel is relatively new, as expected, all the stuff inside the room were all up to date. Led Lights, Backlit Cisco Speaker Phone, Card Reader enabled Safety Deposit Box, Huge TV, Sky Cable Digi-Box, and Nice Furniture.
The Air-conditioning was consistent throughout the night. The pillows were down feathers which I find too soft so I had to request for firmer ones which they gladly provided. They also really paid attention to details, they even have you name printed on their letterhead for your writing and correspondents.
If there were 2 things that I don’t like about the room, first was the lack of power outlets especially beside the bed. you have to pull out the bedside table to be able to use the sockets behind it. Second, considering that it was a Junior Suite, I expected it to have an iPod dock already for entertainment. Some hotels already have iPod docks in their standard rooms.
There’s free Wi-Fi around the Hotel but that day it was super-dooper slow and it was really hard to connect. I was informed that they had a technical problem that day. But once connected, you’ll get a decent 2mbps of speed. had to use my phone to connect to the internet.
The Toilet and bath was big as well, it has a separate Toilet and Shower Area, Rainfall Shower Head, Luxurious Toiletries which was similar with Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan, A Big Bath Tub, Fluffy towels and a blow-dryer. But there were 3 essential things missing in the bathroom: First was the ever handy Bidet, Second was the ever reliable exhaust fan (there was one but I think it was broken) and third, A Soap Dish/Rack on the Sink.
Acacia Hotel’s facilities are almost complete . they have a fully equipped Gym, an outdoor pool, a nice restaurant, a lobby café, but they are still missing a Spa. To make up for that, they have a partner Spa that offers on-call, in-room massage service. But according to the management, they are working on having their own spa in the hotel soon.
Acacia Hotel offer free shuttle service around Alabang Area as well, you just need to Call the reception for your pick up time and pick up place. They don’t use a van as a shuttle but rather a private car. This feature is really handy if like to go shopping! You can fill the entire car with your stuff. 🙂
Overall, my Staycation was a very lovely and relaxing experience. Aside from the facilities, what makes this experience better was the service and hospitality of the Staff and Crew of the hotel. Smiles and Greetings every time you see them, and the personalized welcome and nightcap letters in your room really makes a big difference, small things that makes your feel more welcome.
BTW: Upon check-in, they also give you this lifestyle card with discount coupons to different establishments around Alabang. There are discount for dining, shopping, pampering and even cosmetic procedures. 🙂
