I love Siquijor! It is one of those places where you can truly feel away from it all. Fresh Air, No buildings, very few cars, no fancy restaurants, very friendly people, quiet, clean and unexploited beaches, cheap, tranquil and serene place. Just look at their ferry terminal (above) white sand! 🙂 I have been to the Mystical Island of Siquijor Twice already but still, I want to go back to this place again and again. I guess, I’ll never get used to the charm and the peace and quiet this Island brings.
During those visits at Siquijor Island, I stayed in probably their Best and Biggest Hotel and Resort: Coco Grove Beach Resort. Coco Grove offers you relaxation, privacy, exclusivity, serenity, complete amenities, 800 meters of private white sand beach, native rooms and cottages, without having to burn a whole in your pockets! Rooms Rates starts at P2,400.
Coco Grove has a very huge private area where you can really relax, read a book, have a massage, swim, eat, jog, meditate, sleep, and relax again. The vibe of the resort was very calm and quiet. Most of their guests were European Tourists and some locals as well. The service was consistently excellent, they really treat their guest very well. If you book your tours with them you wont have to lift a finger from the moment that you arrive on the Island to the time you have to leave. They will even buy your ferry tickets for you so that your vacation will be hassle free.
Booking was hassle free. You just have to shoot them an email or give them a call then pay your deposit online using your credit card and you are good to go. You just have to pay you balance plus other incidentals at the hotel during your check out. Yes, they accept cash and credit cards.
I wont say that the food was the best but it was good. Actually everything is good when dining under the stars, by the beach. The food and drinks inside the hotel were super cheap. Considering that all of us were captured clients, they did not took advantage. They offer room service and you can also order from practically anywhere inside the resort. This was the one place that I don’t get scared raiding the entire mini bar! To give you an Idea, fruit shakes are priced less than 100 pesos and one bottle of my favorite Redhorse beer only sells for P35 per bottle!
For your ultimate relaxation and vacation experience, Coco Grove offers almost all the activities that you look for in a resort, some for free, some for a fee.

Like I said, the rooms were Nature Inspired. Wooden and Indigenous interiors, great views of nature or the ocean, and it was very quiet since it was miles apart from each other. We got an Executive Room, this one is good for a family of 4 or a group of 4. Priced at P4,200/night with free breakfast for 2, you get one king Bed and an extra room with a double decker bed.
Some warning when you are planning to visit Coco Grove Resort. Be prepared to be detached from the outside world. Most places have limited to zero network connection and the WiFi was very Slow and Unreliable. So don’t expect that you can catch up with work or your Social Network while on the Island. It’s a vacation – Relax! 🙂 The ferry schedule to and from the island is limited so better drop by the ferry terminal as soon as you touch down Dumaguete City and check it out as soon as possible. The ferry terminal is just 10-15 minutes away via trike from the airport. Also, if you are sea-sick, don’t forget to take you anti sea-sick meds before you ride the ferry… Although I doubt that it will work. It would be better to just bring one or two air-sickness bag from your flight. It was one hell of a ferry ride! 🙂
Prepare to experience 1 hour of this…
If you want to check how huge Coco Grove is.. Here’s the Resort Map.. Yes you may get lost!
Overall, Coco Grove Siquijor is Definitely one of your best option when staying on the Island. Great service, Complete Amenities, Super Friendly People, Reasonably Priced, and most of all a great exclusive getaway place for you to relax and be detached from your normal routine.
The Island of Siquijor is a very small Island which also has several places of interests. The Island is so small that you can actually take a tour of the entire Island in under 4 hours. I will post my 1 day Siquijor Island Tour Itinerary in my next posts.
I will definitely be back to this resort again in the future 🙂
Hanggang Sa Muli! Paalam!
